Baron Edmond de Rothschild The Known Benefactor – Past and vision stamp
The story of Ramat Hanadiv began with Baron de Rothschild, a visionary and man of action, who significantly influenced early modern Jewish settlement in Eretz Israel and shaped its future, driven by his values and great passion. Forty-four towns were established and the Baron and his successors supported many more.
Ramat Hanadiv, where he is buried, is a living memorial to the Baron’s extraordinary achievements and vision. He inspired Ramat Hanadiv to create sustainability and balance among humans nature and the environment.
The Memorial Gardens – Present and memorialization stamp
The well-kept gardens, with their greenery and tall trees, invite visitors to experience the tranquill atmosphere and intoxicating floral fragrances year-round. The Gardens surround the graves of the Baron and his wife, combining European formality with native Mediterranean vegetation, reflecting Baron de Rothschild’s legacy of dignity and modesty. Along the paths, visitors can
view the Nature Park and the landscape to the sea. This contrasting sight of a flourishing, meticulously designed island surrounded by native vegetation and scenery is what makes Ramat Hanadiv so enchanting.
The Nature Park – Innovation and future stamp
The Park, which lies at the southern end of Mount Carmel, over an area of 450 hectares, is a gem of nature, a mosaic of diverse landscapes that is home to a diversity of local wildlife and vegetation. The Park’s operations are based on scientific
and applied knowledge, utilizing innovative research tools to preserve the delicate balance among nature, environment and humans. This management strategy is revised daily and embodied in the treatment of wildlife and plants, the restoration and preservation of heritage sites and the development of educational, cultural and recreational programs.
